The torch of the “City Champion” competition was lit in the capital

🔻 Simultaneously with the opening ceremony of leisure festivals and competitions of Tehran’s neighborhoods, the torch of the “City Champion” competition was lit in the 12,000-seat complex of Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
🔻 Alireza Zakani (Mayor of Tehran) by attending this ceremony regarding the so-called “Kaherman Shahr” competition, which will be held in Tehran at the same time as the first summer of the new century, stated: In the “Kaherman Shahr” sports plan, 600 thousand male and female citizens Tehrani compete with each other.
He added: This sports plan will continue from today until the end of the year.
Mehdi Chamran, head of the Tehran Islamic Council, also stated: The existing sports facilities are not suitable for the existing population of the citizens, but we are trying to provide participation and use for the interested youth with these facilities.
✅ The sports competition of Tehrani citizens started its work in the first summer of the century, while the competitions were held in two individual and team divisions in 8 disciplines, including men’s and women’s dodgeball.
The ceremony started with the lighting of the games torch and then continued with the parade of sports teams in front of more than 12 thousand Tehrani citizens and ended with the unveiling of the “City Hero” poster signed by the mayor of Tehran.
🔻 Shermin Jabarian (Chairman of Iran Dodgeball Association and Vice-Chairman of Asian Dodgeball Federation) said about this plan: Fortunately, during the past years, there has been favorable interaction and cooperation between Tehran Municipal Sports Organization and Dodgeball Association, and every year dodgeball sports participate in the competitions. The neighborhoods of Tehran are very colorful and we thank God that the exciting sport of dodgeball has been chosen as one of the 8 sports in the “Champion of the City” competition.
He added: “Fortunately, the sport of dodgeball is expanding rapidly among the people and we hope to witness such valuable events in all major cities of the country.”
